requirements for first reconciliation & first communion
“I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.”
John 6:48-50First Reconciliation and First Communion are a very important in the journey of faith of our children. Children will receive for first time the Sacrament of Reconcliation and the Sacrament of Communion, the body and blood of Jesus Christ. Children will become one with Christ who share with us His eternal life.
Your childre are eligible to receive First Reconciliation & First Communion during the second year of Religious Education. In order to be enrolled for the preparation of these Sacraments, the candidate must:
1. Be a baptized Catholic2. Have completed the First Grade in Religious Education or Catholic School
3. Be registered at St. Anthony's and in our Religious Education Program
Preparation for First Communion is a two-year process that involves attendance at weekly Mass and Holy Days of Obligation, and religious education sessions.Saturday: 5:30 pm (Vigil Mass)
Sunday: 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12noon, and 4:30 pm
If children attend Mass here at St. Anthony's or at a different parish, a bulletin from that parish must be signed by the presiding priest and submitted in order to receive credit for attendance. -
Sacrament of Confirmation Registration

Confirmation is a TWO YEAR process of direct preparation
AFTER 1st through 8th grade instruction is completed.Who may be Confirmed?Confirmation candidates must:
● Have received the sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion.
● Be between the ages of twelve and eighteen.
● Have been adequately catechized in the Catholic faith through ongoing participation in a Catholic school or parish religious education program.
● Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the obligations of a practicing member of the Catholic Church.
● Have a sincere desire to receive the sacrament as well as an appreciation of sacramental life

Join OUR YOUTH GROUP

SAVE THE DATE FOR vACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
In late August, St. Anthony's will host its second annual summer Vacation Bible School (VBS) in 2025. Students who have completed grades K-6 can register to participate in the weeklong festivities. Students who have completed grades 7 and up can participate as camp volunteers—great for those looking for community service hours. Registration opens up in the winter/early spring. Donations are accepted and will go towards sponsoring families experiencing financial hardship, needed materials and so forth.
We are also seeking adult volunteers to help in this ministry. There are many ways to lend a hand. Interested adults will need Protecting God's Children training before the event takes place.
